Pistachio citrus loaf

Cooks in 1 hour Difficulty Easy

It’s PIE SEASON! Make your own crust or perish (eat not as good pie).

And while you’re at it, make this galette! Add a few tsp white miso to some apple butter (recipe also on my page), lay that down as your base, all the way to the edge. Top with thinly sliced apples, leaving 1inch of dough around the borders. Tuck dough borders and press firmly to adhere. Egg wash dough and bake at 400F for 30-35 minutes. Glaze apples with warm honey right from oven.

Miso apple galette 🤸‍♀️🍎🧈

This is one of my fall repeats because it so stinkin easy and GOOD. roll out some pie dough, slather it with apple butter and a little miso, lay some sliced apples, tuck you dough, and bake! A little egg wash on the dough before baking, a little warm honey on the finished apples for shine.

My first time working with a braided crust and she held up surprisingly well with minimal breakage!! Next time I would try one long strip but I was making this in the direct sunlight so was playing games in and out of the fridge, and found short strips easier.

Also next time would roll the edges extra thin since there is extra dough. The crust was just a *touch* too thick. Oh well still delicious!

Vlogmas alert ‼️🚨

I had a lot of fun doing it last year so I’m bringing it back this year!! I’ll be posting a mini vlog on TikTok (& maybe stories here if you want it) everyday December 1st-24th, reviewing my advent calendars as I go! But as I mentioned, this one only has 12 days, so I need suggestions for another!! I’m thinking one more food based, and hopefully a fun beverage one (tea, coffee, non-alc options), so if you have a favorite lmk 🫶

In addition to vlogmas, starting in December you can find me in some more long form content, hopefully dropping weekly…🤭 think baking tips, kitchen tour, longer vlogs, & bake alongs. ur gonna wanna watch this space….

(that feels so dramatic) but hopefully this is something you are excited about because I certainly am! I say it all the time but I can’t say it enough, I am so in love and obsessed with this community and I just want to yap with you more 🫶🫶

@foodtoogoodtogo cookbook club this month, cohosted by @bromabakery !

Who could go wrong with an evening full of dessert? We all baked from Sarah’s new book, Sweet Tooth.

I made the Matilda cake - a rich, fudgey chocolate cake. I found the technique really interesting on this one! She uses gluten free flour and flax meal instead of eggs to make a super moist, dense, and almost chewy cake, with added depth from the flax. Not only delicious, but a stellar option for gluten free pals!!

Favorites included the London fog loaf, and @dolcetta.baking ‘s perfect banofee cake.

Was feeling pretty creatively drained after cake picnic, so thank you @camillawynne and @foodjars for the creative inspo here!!

Topped with a black sesame Bundt castle, matcha & chocolate cake crumb dirt & moss, a bean path, herbs & edible flowers, a mini pumpkin-on-a-stick (sans stick) patch, the smallest mushys I could find, and a lychee dragon egg tucked inside.

Was peeling a lychee one day and thought to myself “this looks like a dragon egg”, then I saw @bako_bakes_sometimes dirt cake shortly after, and instantly became obsessed with this idea. A little different than my normal cakes, but I hope you like it too 🫶 I want weird cakes forever!!!

It’s apple butter season baby, and I’m here for it!!

Spread on anything bready/baked, shake into a cocktail, add to a latte, boost galettes, use in bakes, use as a marinade, in a salad dressing, HOWEVER U WANT BABY 😲

Don’t have apple cider? Use water! Want some other spices in the mix? Add them! Throw in some pears! This recipe can’t go wrong

Recipe
-3 lbs mixed sweet and tart apples, cored, chopped
-3 cups unsweetened apple cider
-1/2 cup raw or white granulated sugar or light brown sugar
-1 cinnamon stick
-2 whole cloves
-1/4 tsp. Kosher salt
-1/2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar

Combine apples, sugar, cider, salt, and whole spices in a Dutch oven or heavy bottomed pot. Cook on medium for 1-1/2 hours, until the apples are cooked down and fully soft. Remove whole spices and blend until smooth.

Transfer to a baking dish and put in a 350F oven for 2-2 1/2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes, until reduced by about half and dark amber in color.

Mix in apple cider vinegar and let cool. Transfer to container and store in fridge up to 1 month.

cherry cheese danishes!

I made these a while ago (before most of u followed me so I can repost them ok) for my entry kit for a home baker competition show. I actually got fairly far through the process, (proud moment) but was ultimately denied (obviously, I wouldn’t have shut up about that).

The whole process was pretty crazy and fun and I’m so so glad I did it. It pushed me to really work on my presentation and photography skills, and was a fantastic learning experience all around. (I put myself through baking boot camp for a few weeks and DAMN it was a lot of 4am and 10pm baking). I also kinda got scouted (sort of kinda not really) so that felt slay. I would love to try again just to see if I could make it further, but I think I’m disqualified now because I now sell cakes 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyways, if you want to hear more about it I can tell you more (like the first time I cried on the subway). Or you can just look at these danishes (which were delicious)
